Position Summary
Seasonal summer positions for college Junior or Senior looking to get a better understanding in the space planning department. The role will be a hybrid working in the office and at home with the Albertson backstage catalyst group.
 
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

·       Assist Category Assort Manager in tailoring Division Assortment specific to each market, accommodating regional/local items while following National guardrails.
·       Customize Division Assortments down to cluster and/or set size level.
·       Collaborate and review Division Assortments with local ASM’s.
·       Assist Category Assort Manager in understanding store space limitations at the shelf and develop innovative solutions to meet the companies’ objectives.
·       Responsible for reporting data errors to the appropriate party for resolution.
·       Provide Assortment analytics to supporting departments (NCD’s, CATaylst, OWN Brands, Schematics).
·       Work with Schematic Analyst I in verifying all items are in the set room as well as set up/take down (when applicable).
·       Responsible for ensuring that all items are scanned through Syndigo.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: (Required):   Associate's Degree          or equivalent experience
                                
 
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Non-perishable/perishable product knowledge and merchandising background preferred.
 
- Strong PC skills (preferred Microsoft Office knowledge) Working knowledge of internal Albertsons systems a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)
- Must possess and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, energy, and be very detail oriented.
- Ability to view the changing dynamics of the grocery industry and seek out opportunities for synergy and integration within different areas of the business.

Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
